Zeno Jacob Lumbrezer, age 91 of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Tuesday morning, February 15, 2011 at Heartland of Waterville.

He was born April 18, 1919 in Swanton to Louis and Anna (Bauer) Lumbrezer. On August 16, 1941, he married his beloved wife Mary Ries who preceded him in death on January 3, 1994.

Zeno loved the land. He started farming with mules as a young boy and saw all the changes from husking corn by hand, and thrashing wheat, to riding his John Deere tractor. As a winter job, Zeno drove school bus for the Metamora School System for over twenty years.

He also enjoyed music and dancing with Mary over their fifty plus years together. He was a lifelong and faithful member of Holy Trinity Parish.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Paul (Diane) Lumbrezer of Monclova, OH; daughter-in-law, Nancy Lumbrezer of Swanton, OH; grandchildren, R.J. (Tanya) Lumbrezer, Scott (Cathy) Lumbrezer, Joe (Heather) Lumbrezer, Anna (Todd) Woodring, Jeremy (Carrie) Lumbrezer, Stacy Lumbrezer, Christopher (Jennifer) Klewer, Stacie (Brian) Stankos, and Kevin (Michelle) Klewer; great-grandchildren, Landon, Kaleb, Abigail, Chandler, Zachary, Riley, Jordan, Austin, Sydney, Evan, Walker, Tyson, Bailey, and Luke, Zachary and Carson Klewer; siblings, Bernetta Noe, Pauline Gillen, Charles Lumbrezer, and Shirley (John) Fritsch; and brother-in-law, William Lantz.

Also preceding him in death was his son, Ron Lumbrezer; and siblings, Marty Lau, Lucille Lantz, and Angela Lumbrezer.

Family and friends may visit Friday, February 18th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora, where a Scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Assumption, where a Mass of Resurrection will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Ron Schock officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Holy Trinity Church or School.
