William David Smith, age 71, of Swanton, Ohio, passed peacefully, Sunday evening, January 25, 2015, at Whitehouse Country Manor. He was born December 17, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio to Ralph J. and Jessie (Stovall) Smith. On February 6, 1971, he married Patricia Born . She preceded him in death on April 24, 2000.

William was a dog lover and an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He enjoyed watching WWE Wrestling, drinking coffee, and most of all, visits from his granddaughters.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Kelly (Tim) Strauss of Wauseon, OH; granddaughters, Isabella and Rebecca; brother, Bennie (Nancy) Smith of Toledo, OH; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife, Patricia, William was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Ralph J. Smith; and son, Clayton D. Smith.

Graveside services at Sharples Cemetery will be held at a later date.
