William G. Rood, Sr., age 74, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly in his home, Thursday, February 21, 2008, surrounded by his family. He was born December 6, 1933 in Bucyrus, Ohio to the late George and Virgie (Hart) Rood.

Bill was a faithful member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Holland. He loved to watch old western movies. On December 31, 1988 he met his soul-mate Frances Collins. They were married February 18, 1989.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Frances; children, Nancy Spencer, Tammy (Scott) Huntley and William, Jr. (Diana) Rood; adopted daughter, Cynthia Moore and two grandchildren, Scottie and Samantha Spencer.

Bill will be greatly missed by all.

Friends and family may visit Saturday, February 23rd from 10 am to 12 Noon at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where funeral services will begin at 12 Noon. Interment will follow at East Swanton Cemetery.
