Werner Anton Steiner

Werner Anton Steiner, age 79, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away in his home, Tuesday morning, March 8, 2022. He was born February 24, 1943 in Patschkau, Germany to Anton and Anna (Schneider) Steiner. He moved to America with his parents and brother in 1952. After graduating from high school, Werner enlisted in the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged on June 10, 1979.

Werner lived in Jamesburg, New Jersey, where he was a volunteer fire fighter. He retired as a carpenter in 1993 and was a member of Local Union #1006 in Milltown, New Jersey. In 2002, Werner moved to Ohio and lived with his daughter and son-in-law. He loved the great outdoors, camping, fishing, boating, hunting and skiing.

Werner is survived by his daughters, Anna Barrett and Lisa Shepsko, and son-in-law, Brian Shepsko; his son, Joseph Steiner; his grandchildren whom he loved so much, Kira, Joey and Carly Barrett and Celia Shepsko; and brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Irene Steiner.

Werner was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan of 23 years and his parents, Anton and Ann Steiner.

Graveside services will be held at Fernwood Cemetery in Jamesburg, New Jersey at a later date.
