Wendall P. Barden, age 78, of Morenci, Michigan, died Sunday evening, December 30, 2012, surrounded by his family, at Magnum Care of Adrian. He was born March 29, 1934 in Lyons, Ohio to Lowell and Iva June (Evers) Barden. Wendall retired from GM Powertrain, where he worked 21 years.
Wendall enjoyed playing euchre, loved his time at the lake fishing and boating, and enjoyed collecting John Deere tractors and listening to Bluegrass music.
He is survived by his first wife and his children’s mother, Patricia Hanna; children, Debra Rice, Karen (Roy) Vires, Sharon (Mike) Degroot, Gary (Nancy) Barden, Brian (Charlotte) Barden, and Bruce (Melinda) Barden; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice Batdorf, and Alta Mae Woodby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and June Barden; infant son, Daniel Paul Barden; sisters, Beulah Gillen and Donna Vaculik; and brothers, Warren, Harold, Harlan, Gaylord, and Maynard Barden.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton (419.826.2631), where a Memorial service will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Donna Stutzman officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, January 2nd at 7:00 pm in the Funeral Home
Interment: At a later date at Lyons Cemetery
