Interment with Military Rites: Sharples Cemetery
Walter Clarence Winterfeld, age 87, of Delta, Ohio, passed away October 3, 2017 at Fulton County Health Center. He was born February 3, 1930 in Holland, Ohio to Clarence and Rosa (Drewyor) Winterfeld. Walter was a US Army veteran that served during the Korean War. He married LaDonna Thompson on May 11, 1957; she preceded him in death in 1989. Walter worked for Libby Owens Ford as an inspector, retiring in 1989.
Walter was a very loving, kind, caring family man. He loved riding his Honda motorcycles. Walter was known for tinkering with everything and was known to even experiment with cooking with the grandkids.
He is survived by his loving children, Denise Eppard, and Walter D. (Linda) Winterfeld; grandchildren, Kyle and Maranda Eppard; step-grandchildren, Steven Berkebile, Larry Billings; step great-grandchildren, Jamie, Whittney and Mykala Berkebile; siblings, Joe (JoAnn) Winterfeld, Orletta (Edward) Jordan, Janet Barnhart, Christena Kocinski, Rosella (James) Niday.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, LaDonna; 5 infant children; siblings, Floyd, Lloyd, Willie, John, Harold, and Richard Winterfeld, Barbie Goodman, and Genevieve Black.
Family and friends may visit Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held on Monday October, 9th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Donna Stutzman officiating. Interment, with Military Rites, will follow at Sharples Cemetery.
