Vera Jean Von Deylen, age 80, of Swanton, Ohio, answered God’s call Thursday evening, January 7, 2010, after a very courageous fight with cancer and many other health issues, surrounded by her loving family.
Jean was born June 28, 1929 to Harlen and Ada (Vance) Yant. She worked very hard all of her life to take good care of her 3 children; always taking care of their needs before her own. Jean was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Her wisdom and love will live in our hearts.
Besides many nieces, nephews, and friends, she leaves behind her son, Ronald James, Jr. (Annette) Von Deylen; daughters, Linda Blanks and Connie (Jack) Tibbets; along with 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine Faber; and sister-in-law Alice Yant.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters, Mary, Fern, and Jane; and 2 brothers, Richard and LaVern.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, January 11, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church in Swanton, with Rev. Barbara Jean Pope officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, The American Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
