Velma Marie Black of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Hospital on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 on her 91st birthday. She was born January 19, 1920 in Swanton, Ohio to Charles Van and Eva Grace (Davis) Harding. She was a 1937 graduate of Swanton High School and was employed by Johns Manville before her retirement. In 1939 she married Lloyd William Black who preceded her in death in October 1977.
Velma was a simple woman who was dearly loved by her family. She will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Beverly Jean and Barbara Jean; sons, Lloyd William, Jr. and Charles William; her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at South Swanton Cemetery with Rev. Donna Stutzman officiating.
