Tonya Dominique

June 23, 1962 — August 8, 2013

Tonya Dominique, age 51, of Swanton, Ohio, entered into eternal life, late Thursday afternoon, August 8, 2013, surrounded by her loving family, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born June 23, 1962 in Abington, Pennsylvania to Richard and Arlene (Brown) Notestine. She graduated from Mohawk High School in 1980 and attended Jacksonville Community Junior College. On September 18, 1987, she married the love of her life, Glen Dominique.

Tonya worked as a secretary for the past 10 years for Drs. Mark and Penny Jones Optometrists in Swanton, until her diagnosis with cancer. She was a faithful member of St. Richard’s Parish and it’s life teen choir, and a 6-year member of the CCL (Children’s Conservation League).

Scouting was a huge part of Tonya’s life when her son Nicholas was growing up, and she was a Scoutmaster for St. Richard’s for many years. Tonya’s hobbies included attending the Homemaker’s Camp of Northwest Ohio for the past 20 years, taking guitar lessons, collecting glass eggs, and crocheting many blankets. She also had a passion for butterflies and dolphins.

Tonya was a devoted mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend. She was very close to her entire family and cherished every minute spent with them. She will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 25 years, Glen; her precious son, Nicholas; brother, Richard (Lauren) Notestine; sister, Norene (Bill Smith) Notestine; nephews, Bryan and Alec Heenan; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dawn (Fred) Bolyard, Robin Dominique, and Michael (Sarah) Dominique; nephews, Tyler, Sam, Alec, Mikey, Josh, and Carrie; and god dog, Half Pint.
