Thomas Charles Warner, age 68, of Swanton, Ohio, entered eternal life, Sunday morning, March 18, 2012 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. He was born April 5, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Howard L. and Erma I. (Hummon) Warner (who recently preceded him in death on March 14, 2012). Tom was a graduate of Whitmer High School – Class of ’61. On November 3, 1962, he married his beloved wife, Joyce Folsom.
Tom drove triples for UPS, retiring on July 1, 1997. He was a member of St. Richard’s Catholic Parish in Swanton, AARP, and was a car enthusiast. He especially enjoyed tinkering with his 1932 Ford. But most of all, Tom loved spending time with his family and taking them out to eat at his favorite local restaurant – Shuckers.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of almost 50 years; Joyce; loving daughters, Cyndi Ochmanek and Diana (Joe) Cicerella; grandchildren, Megan, Justin, Ryan (Laura), Brandon (Bridget), Darin, Dylan, Cheyanne, Erin, and Samuel; and great-grandchildren, Charles, Macy Jane, Braylon, Brianna, and Isaiah. Also surviving is his brother, James H. (Linda) Warner, Sr.; sisters, Linda (Fred) Hitchings and Patti (Bob) Kusky; many nieces, nephews, and friends; and his faithful four-legged companion, Taffy.
Family and friends may visit Tuesday, March 20th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.. Prayers will begin Wednesday, March 21st at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. at St. Richard’s Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel J. Zak celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Richard’s Cemetery.
A heartfelt thank you to Toledo Hospital Neurology ICU-especially Jody, Bill, and Mary; as well as Ebeid Hospice and Arrowhead Dialysis for the wonderful care and compassion they provided Tom. A special thank you to Tom’s sister-in-law, Linda Warner, who graciously played the role as chauffeur – taking Tom to his dialysis treatments over the past 7 years.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Richard’s Church, Ebeid Hospice, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
