Theresa Catherine Truckor

Theresa Catherine Truckor, age 96, entered into eternal rest, Tuesday evening, January 10, 2012 at the Swanton Health Care & Retirement Center. She was born April 30, 1915 in Metamora, Ohio to Ed and Maude (Irwin) Myers. She married Ambrose Truckor on April 24, 1937. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1984. She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Mary Ann; son, Edward; and sister, Olive Rose Simon.

Theresa was a loving wife, devoted mother, caring grandmother and great-grandmother. She was always involved and supportive in the daily operations of the family farm.

Theresa was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish of Assumption, Altar Rosary Society, and Catholic Order of Foresters.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling, playing cards, and baking. She took great spiritual comfort in reciting the Rosary daily and attending Mass. Theresa was extremely close with her three sisters, Regina, Ollie, and Mary Jeanette. They shared a special loving bond, living in the same community and socializing together their entire lives.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Roger (Sandy) Truckor of Swanton, OH, Tom (Kay) Truckor of Berkey, OH; daughter-in-law, Susie Truckor of Swanton, OH; grandchildren, Rick (Mary) Truckor, Randy (Hope) Truckor, Robert (Kelly) Truckor, Chad Truckor, Neal Truckor, Kent Truckor and Gretchen Truckor; great-grandchildren, Kate, Taylor, Jonathon, Nicole, Kirsten, and Kara; as well as her sisters, Regina Langenderfer and Mary Jeanette (Al) Langenderfer; and many nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to the entire staff of Swanton Health Care for the wonderful care they gave our mother over the years.

Family and friends may visit Friday, January 13th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 413 E. Main St. in Metamora, where a Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m.. Visitation will continue Saturday, January 14th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity (Immaculate Conception) Catholic Church at Marygrove, 1750 N. Raab Road, where a Mass of Resurrection will begin at 10:30 a.m., with Fr. Ron Schock officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Assumption.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Church.
