Tammy Michalkiewicz

May 4, 1966 — September 4, 2014

Tammy Michalkiewicz, age 48, a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, entered into eternal life, following a courageous battle with cancer, Thursday afternoon, September 4, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Tammy was born May 4, 1966 in Tiffin, Ohio to Walter and Mary (Gase) Hoepf. She was a 1984 graduate of Seneca East High School, and on August 20, 1988, married her beloved husband, Gary Michalkiewicz of Swanton.

Tammy was a manager for 25 years with American Airlines at Toledo Express Airport. She was also co-owner of Michalkiewicz Lawn Service, and member of St. Richard Catholic Church in Swanton.

Tammy had a heart of gold, and will be remembered as a generous person who put others needs before her own. She loved having a good time and had a wonderful sense of humor. Tammy's beauty would light up the room when she walked in, along with her infectious personality. When she talked, people listened. She loved the outdoors, her pets, but she especially loved her family. She wanted everyone to get along. She was Zach and Garrett's biggest cheerleader as they were growing up and playing sports.

Tammy will be greatly missed by her husband of 26 years, Gary; sons, Zachary and Garrett; parents, Walter and Mary Hoepf; siblings, Shirley (Gerald) Bumb, Linda (Dale) Schroeder, Sandra Benner, Connie (John) Powell, Stephen (Darlene) Hoepf, Theresa (Michael) Hoerig, Diane (Michael) Watson, Miriam (Lazaro) Garcia, Mark (Laura) Hoepf, Bryan (Valerie) Hoepf, Gary (Dawn) Hoepf, Tracy (Brent) Hogue, and Michell (Kevin) Nedolast; as well as her mother-in-law, Jennie Michalkiewicz.

Tammy was preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Hoepf; nephew, Derrik Hoepf; and father-in-law, Joseph Michalkiewicz.

Family and friends may visit Sunday, September 7th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, and will continue Monday, September 8th from 2 to 8 p.m. A Vigil Service with recitation of the Rosary will be held Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. A Mass of Resurrection for Tammy will be held Tuesday, September 9th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Richard Catholic Church, where visitation will be one hour prior. Fr. Daniel J. Zak and Fr. Joe Szybka will preside and Deacon Jerry Ziemkiewicz will assist. Interment will follow at St. Richard’s Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made at any Fifth Third Bank, where a High School Scholarship Fund is set up in her memory and will be used to support Seneca East High School and Swanton High School.
