Susanne M. Dzyak, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, entered into eternal life, Friday morning, December 6, 2024, under the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. Sue was born September 6, 1941, in Brookville, Pennsylvania. She lived a life dedicated to family and nursing, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know her.
A proud graduate of St. Joseph High School in 1959, Sue furthered her education by receiving her nursing degree from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing. Her career as a Registered Nurse was not merely a job; it was a reflection of her compassionate spirit and unwavering commitment to caring for others. She touched many lives through her profession: serving with love and kindness.
An active member of St. Richard Catholic Parish, Sue was involved with the Rosary & Altar Society. Her vibrant spirit shone through in her hobbies, notably her membership in a book club and her enjoyment of playing domino's, where laughter and camaraderie were never in short supply.
Sue's passion for her career and her enjoyment of sharing time with friends were only outshone by her love for her family. Sue's four sons were her pride and joy, often the topic of conversation, sharing their lives and accomplishments. Her favorite accomplishments: 8 granddaughters, 1 grandson, and most recently, her first great grandchild. Sue enjoyed regular check-ins with her grandchildren, sharing joyous moments and offering wise words of wisdom. Family gatherings were always a joyous time for Sue, being surrounded by those she loved the most.
Sue married Paul J. Dzyak on October 19, 1963. He preceded her in death on September 18, 2020. Sue found joy and fulfillment in her family life, which she cherished above all else. She is survived by her sons, Paul Jr. (Michelle), Michael (Laurie), Brian, and Todd (Rachel) Dzyak, who lovingly remember her steadfast support and encouragement throughout their lives. She was a proud grandmother to Josh (Jessica), Melanie, Anna, Kathryn (Eric), Alison, Elyssa, Brianna, Natasha, and Alexa and great grandmother to Rhys. Sue is survived by her sister, Virginia Beichner, and her sister-in-laws Peggy Gatesman, Kathryn Upton, and Margaret Putnam, brother-in-law John (Jennifer) Dzyak, and many nieces and nephews.
Sue was preceded in death by Paul, her husband of 57 years, her parents Lawrence and Florence "Hop" Gatesman, brother Lawrence Gatesman, and brother-in-law Jim Beichner.
