Stella A. LaPlant, age 84, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, March 27, 2008. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 10, 1923, the daughter of Paul and Josephine Kosakowski. She married Paul T. LaPlant, and he preceded her in death on June 18, 1996. Also preceding her in death was her son, David; 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Stella worked for the Jeep Corporation for over 30 years, retiring in 1977.

Stella was very close to her family. She is survived by her son, Paul D. (Debbie) LaPlant and daughter, Patricia LaPlant (Ray). Stella was loved by all who knew her. She deeply loved all of her grandchildren, Tony (Michelle) Pacewicz, Tammy (Dave) Fesz, Amy (Brandon), Jennifer (Todd), Jeannine, Paul, Jr. (Brandy); and great grandchildren, Jacob, Megan, Anthony and Colin.

Friends and family may visit Sunday, March 30th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where a Scripture Service will be held at 7 p.m. Prayers will begin in the funeral home on Monday, March 31st at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Richard Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Daniel Zak will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Richard’s Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Richard’s Church or Swanton Fire and Rescue.
