Slade Wielinski

Calling Hours: Friday, December 30th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 12 (noon) to 2:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton

Slade Alan Wielinski, age 40, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 19, 1971 to Francis “Fritz” and Susan (Turpening) Wielinski. He married Heather McCaig on July 7, 2007.

Slade was a full-time student at Owens Community College, studying Biomedical Engineering. He was a member of the Swanton Elks and had numerous hobbies; including working on cars, riding motorcycles, fishing, mushroom hunting, and testing his luck gambling at the casinos. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.

Slade is survived by his parents; wife, Heather; brother, Neil (Maggie) Wielinski; and brothers-in-law, Ben (Sarah) McCaig and Andrew McCaig.

Family and friends may visit Friday, December 30th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Visitation will continue Saturday, December 31st from 12 (Noon) until 2:00 p.m., with funeral services immediately following in the funeral home, with Rev. Donna Stutzman officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
