Shirley Ann (VonAhrens) Thompson

Shirley Ann Thompson, age 88, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021 in her home, surrounded by her family. Shirley was born June 25, 1933 in Toledo, Ohio to Lawrence W. and Margaret Bell VonAhrens. On September 11, 1950, she married William Lee Thompson. He preceded her in death on November 21, 2013.

Shirley is survived by her sons, William (Brenda), Thomas, Larry (Deanna) and Danny (Eva) Thompson; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Marian Zappone; brother, Dick (Babe) VonAhrens; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard (Betty) Thompson, Shirley (Robert) Schiffer, Mary Watkins and Harriet (Dan) Harden.

Besides her husband, Bill, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and son, James Lee Thompson; brothers, George, Lawrence and Butch VonAhrens.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 10th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where services will begin at 12:00 p.m. (Noon), with Pastor Donna Stutzman officiating. Interment will follow at East Swanton Cemetery.
