Sherman C. Hallett, age 72, a life long resident of Swanton, Ohio, entered into eternal life, surrounded by his loving family, early Friday morning, July 24, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee. He was born May 29, 1943 in Swanton to Walter and Virginia (Leo) Hallett. Sherman was a 1960 graduate of Swanton High School and served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. On December 5, 1970, he married his beloved wife, Theresa Bollman.
Sherman was a member of St. Richard Catholic Parish and served as Vice President of Hallett Realty. He built several homes in the Northwest Ohio area and was known as a very good carpenter. To him, the best tools of the trade, were the simple ones. Sherman enjoyed fishing and was an animal lover, especially his cats. He also loved a good cup of coffee and tinkering. He found a good use for everything.
Sherman is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Theresa; children, Kirk C. (Molly) Hallett, Patrick J. Hallett, Maria T. (Keith) Uerkwitz, John P. Hallett, Beth A. (Jason) Robertson, and Joan M. Hallett; grandchildren, Thomas and Charles Hallett, and Abigail, James, Ashlynn, and Brianna Robertson; siblings, Anne Drummond, Frances (Norman) Brushaber, Dori (Jim) Skalski, Dennis (Eva) Hallett, Walter (Ann) Hallett, Mary Clark and Mike (Sue) Hallett.
Sherman was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Amy Drummond and Barbara Dudek.
Family and friends may visit Monday, July 27th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Prayers will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday, July 28th at 10:30 a.m., and follow with a Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. at St. Richard Catholic Church, with Fr. Adam Hertzfeld presiding and Deacon Jerry Ziemkiewicz assisting. Interment will follow at St. Richard's Cemetery.
