Sean Eckhardt was born on October 11, 1967 to Jack and Marilyn Eckhardt in San Jose California. The family relocated to Ohio where Sean attended and graduated from Bowling Green High School as well as receiving his Bachelor and Master Degrees from Bowling Green State University. He went on to work for MCO, Root Learning, Hanson and Promedica. That was his career but the love of his life was truly the Lord and his family.
Sean had a passion for learning and trying. If he didn’t know how to do something, he would find out who did. He spent his life serving anyone who had a need. He worked hard for his family so they would have the best start in life. All three of his children were blessed with passions that he, too, shared and he loved nothing more than to help them develop those abilities and share with them all he’d learned along the way. It is a mark of a man when not only his wife, but children, love and respect him the way we all do. We were blessed to call him not just husband and father, but friend.
There are no words to describe how much we already miss him. However, we know, because of our faith in the finished work of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, on the cross that this is not goodbye. We will be with him again. Because of the gift of God, our family’s hope and faith is in Jesus who died and rose again, providing full atonement of our sins. We can’t earn it and it was already paid for by the precious blood of Jesus. How appropriate that God would choose now, Christmas (our family’s favorite time of the year), to take Sean home. It is a true reminder of what Christmas is about. Salvation. Sean would want this gift shared with you. Everything he did he did to serve and honor God. His heart was that others would come to have that same hope we have; eternity with our Lord and Savior.
Prior to his passing, Sean was working diligently with the leadership of our church, Living Grace Evangelical Church in renovating our building we recently acquired to bring it to code and make it a home for our church family. If you would like to donate to the Living Grace Renovation Fund in Sean’s memory, you can do so by sending to Living Grace Evangelical Church - 9624 Garden Rd Monclova, OH 43542 - or by using the QR code below and selecting the ‘Renovation Fund’ from the drop down menu. Any donation, no mater how great or small, would honor Sean greatly.
Sean was and will always be cherished by so many. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack. Surviving are his wife of 25 years (Christin), sons (Matthew and Ryan), daughter (Emily), mother (Marilyn), sisters (Cindy, Marina, Malinda and Christina), mother-in-law (Carol), sisters-in-law (Terri, Misty, and Christi), brothers-in-law (Brett and Bob), and many nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held at Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, Ohio on Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 3-5 PM with the service beginning at 5 PM. Private burial will follow on Sunday.
