Ruth Van Tuinen, age 89, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Monday, September 27, 2010 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born October 9, 1920 in Plainfield, New Jersey to Henry and Rose (Ungaretti) Gudehus. On October 25, 1941, she married John A. Van Tuinen, Sr..

Ruth was the world’s most generous, kind, and full of life person. We will always love you and never forget you.

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, John; children Jackie (Oliver) Schamel, John Van Tuinen, Jr., James Van Tuinen, and Jeffrey Van Tuinen; twin sister, Gertrude DeSimone; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-granchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Friday, October 1st at 3:00 p.m. at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
