Rose M. White, age 84, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her home, Monday, November 17, 2014, following a long illness. She was born February 27, 1930 in Erie, Michigan to the late Michael and Katherine (Smajenka) Sedlar. She married Charles White, whom she met at the Swanton Senior Center, on December 18, 1999, and he preceded her in death on November 14, 2008.
Rose was a homemaker, and worked as a clerk for Fannie Farmer Candy. She was a member of the Swanton and Wauseon Senior Centers where she loved to play bingo.
Rose is survived by her children, Barbara (Bob) Rose, Bruce (Sally) Thatcher, Joanne (Terry) Ohrman and Jeffrey (Peggy) Thatcher; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Rose was preceded in death by her first husband, James Thatcher; second husband, Charles White.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 20th, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton (419.826.2631). Graveside services will be held Friday afternoon, November 21st at 2:00 p.m. at the Swanton Cemetery on South Main St. (1/4 mile South of Airport Hwy.) with Rev. Donna Stutzman officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
