Rose Marie Myers

Rose Marie Myers, age 78, of Swanton, Ohio, entered into eternal life, Tuesday morning, September 25, 2018, at Addison Health and Rehabilitation Center in Maumee.  She was born October 30, 1939 in Toledo, Ohio to Lucille (Whitt) and Walter Tunison.  She married her beloved husband, Harold Edward Myers on November 3, 1956.  As the kids were growing up, she worked as a cook at Notre Dame Academy.  After 20 years, she retired in 1998 as a Bus Driver for the Swanton Local School District.  During that time, she served on the Swanton Volunteer Rescue Unit.

Rose attended Immaculate Conception in Marygrove and was a member of Little Flower Catholic Parish in Toledo.  She loved family camping trips and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Detroit Tigers fan.  She will be remembered as an exceptional cook  and whose grandkids were the love of her life.

She will be greatly missed by her husband of 61 years, Harold (Ed); daughters, Rose Marie Myers "Punk" and Teresa (Albert) McGaharan; sons, John (Shawn) Myers and James Myers; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren with one on the way.  She is also survived by her siblings, Bobbie (Ed) Shabnow, Nora (Zeke) Komon, Connie Makras, Mary Ann Miller, David Tunison, and Mark (Andrea) Tunison; as well as numerous nieces; nephews and cousins.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Mary Leslie; granddaughter, Katie Harris; daughter-in-law, Beth Myers; sister, Marguerite and brother, Harold Tunison.

Family and friends may visit Monday, October 1st from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton (419.826.2631), where a Vigil service will begin at 7:00 p.m.  A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Tuesday, October 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church, 5522 Dorr St. in Toledo, where visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass.  Father David Nuss will preside.
