Rose M. Coon

Calling Hours: Friday, December 9th from 2 pm to 8 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton

Rose M. Coon, age 88, of Delta, Ohio, entered into eternal rest, Wednesday morning, December 7, 2011 at Swanton Health Care Center. She was born May 10, 1923 in Holland, Ohio to Vencel and Antonia (Hagovsky) Slaninka. On May 12, 1951, she married Warren J. Coon. Rose was a homemaker raising six children and member of St. Richard Catholic Parish in Swanton.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children, Karen McConnell, Sharon Coon, David Coon, Joseph (Peggie) Coon, all of Toledo, OH, Randy Coon of Hebron, OH, and Michael (Sarah) Coon of Point Place; grandchildren, Ryan, Jennifer, Amber, Caitlin, Quinn, Erin, Keenan, Ben, Mark, Kelsie, and Danny; as well as her brother, Dominic; many nieces and nephews; and her loving companion of many years, George Halliday.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren; son-in-law, Joe McConnell; and siblings, Vincent, Verona, Joseph, Frank, Anthony, and Mary.

Friends and family may visit Friday, December 9th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 10th at 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home with Deacon Timothy R. Worline officiating. Interment will follow at South Swanton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Swanton Health Care Center Activities Fund.

The family extends a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Swanton Health Care and Odyssey Hospice for the wonderful care given to our mom.
