Ronald Louis Wielinski, age 69, of Swanton, Ohio, died Friday, April 14, 2023 at home. Ron was born in Toledo, Ohio to Leonard and Doris (Ellison) Wielinski, who preceded him in death. He attended Macomber Vocational and following graduation, enlisted in the United State Army during the Vietnam Era.
Ron worked for the United States Post Office in Toledo, Ohio as a journeyman electrician, retiring in 2004. He continued to work for Dillard’s as a building engineer for sixteen years.
Ron was an excellent troubleshooter and was always there to lend a knowledgeable helping hand. Ron was an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast. He attended the Indy 500 race forty years in a row, several of them with his sons. He was a member of Swanton American Legion Post #479 and St. Richard Catholic Parish.
Ron is survived by his wife, Dorothy; sons, Jack and Vincent; siblings, Timothy (Janet) Wielinski, Joseph (Sylvia) Wielinski and Beverly Dickens; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cynthia (Patrick) Shields and Joseph DeAngelo; as well as many caring nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 27th from 9:00 am to 10:40 am at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where prayers will begin at 10:40. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am at St. Richard Catholic Church, with Fr. Eric Culler presiding. Military rites by the Swanton American Legion Guard will conclude the service.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be used according to their wishes.
