Ronald Arthur Schmidlin, age 70, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully in his residence on Sunday, October 25, 2009. He was born September 14, 1939 to Arthur and Marjorie (Seeman) Schmidlin. He celebrated 51 years of marriage to his loving wife, Marsha (Nowak) Schmidlin on September 9, 2009.

Ronald was a 1958 graduate of Rogers High School. He was blessed to have spent the majority of his life, along with his father and son’s, working in the family greenhouse business. Ronald also enjoyed time fishing on Lake Erie, golfing, and spending time with his family and close friends.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Marsha; father, Arthur Schmidlin; sisters, Polly Cross, and Pat Reed (John); four children, Mike (Connie Miller) Schmidlin, Becky (Howard) Foor, Karen (Tom) Samek, and Steven (Kristy Hudik) Schmidlin; along with five grandchildren, Andrew and Nick Samek, Sarah and Scott Schmidlin, and Jeff Foor.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie; brother, Robert Schmidlin, and brother-in-law, James Cross.

Our warmest thanks goes out to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, and all the special caregivers that helped us out in our time of need. We will greatly miss all of them.

Friends and family may visit Friday, October 30th from 12 (Noon) to 2:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton. A memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Paul Schmidlin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
