Ronald Charles Lumbrezer, age 64, of Swanton, Ohio, died suddenly, Tuesday morning, January 11, 2011, after being struck by an automobile while crossing the road in front of his home. He was born March 30, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio to Zeno and Mary A. (Ries) Lumbrezer. He served in the National Guard and on August 27, 1966, he married his beloved wife, Nancy Pinkelman.

Ron worked in the insurance business for over 40 years. He started out in 1968 working with Prudential. In 1973, he and Nancy bought into Malone Insurance Agency in Metamora, Ohio. He and Nancy owned and operated Lumbrezer-Malone Insurance Agency, until 2008. He has worked as a full-time rural mail carrier since his retirement from Prudential in 1997.

Ron enjoyed playing guitar with the Sound Garden Band for 25 years. He also enjoyed helping his family and friends, socializing, farming with his dad and son, gardening, and decorating his house for the Christmas season. He and Nancy also enjoyed spending time with family and friends at their lake cottage in Saint Helen, Michigan, where many special memories were made. He was a generous man who cared a great deal for people.

He was a life-long active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, a member of the Catholic War Veterans Post #306 in Assumption, and the American Legion Post and Elks Lodge in Saint Helen, Michigan.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 44 years, Nancy; father, Zeno; children, R.J. (Tanya), Scott (Cathy), Joe (Heather), and Anna (Todd) Woodring; 14 grandchildren – Landon, Kaleb, Abigail, Chandler, Zachary, Riley, Jordan, Austin, Sydney, Evan, Walker, Tyson, Bailey, and Luke; and brother, Paul (Diane). In death, Ron is reunited with his mother Mary.

Family and friends may visit Friday, January 14th from 2 to 9 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora, where a Scripture service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday, January 15th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Assumption, where a Mass of Resurrection will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Ron Schock officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Church or Holy Trinity School.
