Robert Glen Stoner, age 79, of Swanton, Ohio, died unexpectedly of natural causes, Monday morning, December 31, 2012. He was born June 13, 1933 in Bloomville, Ohio to Glen and Althea (Seiple) Stoner. On June 4, 1961, he married Mary Ellen Sargent, of Lyons, Ohio. Bob drove school bus in the ‘60’s and was a retired truck driver.
Bob was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He enjoyed playing poker and bowling, and was an avid softball player. Bob will be remembered for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.
He will be greatly missed by his devoted and loving wife of 51 years, Mary; daughter, Gail (Scott) Riches, and their children, Brogan and Bertram; and daughter, Sue (Rick) Lee, and their children, Maggie and Abby.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters.
Family and friends may visit Friday, January 4th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Visitation will continue Saturday, January 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth Ladd officiating. Interment will follow at South Swanton Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
