Robert Grabarczyk

Robert Grabarczyk, age 62, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Saturday morning, September 6, 2014, with his loving family at his bedside, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born August 31, 1952 in Toledo, Ohio to Frank Grabarczyk and Virginia (Johnson) Grabarczyk. He was a 1971 graduate of Springfield High School, and on March 25, 1972, married his beloved wife, Pamela Stansfield.

Bob worked 15 years as a die setter for Gerity-Schultz, while also working as a police officer and fireman for the Village of Holland. After moving the family to Swanton, Bob was hired by the Ohio Turnpike Commission and worked 27 years at the Ohio Turnpike maintenance building until his retirement in 2012.

Bob enjoyed golfing with his buddies known as the "Hook & Slice" golf league, coaching little league baseball and softball in Holland and Swanton when the kids were growing up. He also considered himself a pretty good handyman. Bob would find a way to fix things around the house with parts he already had laying around, rather than having to make a trip to the hardware store.

Most of all, Bob loved the time spent with his loving wife of 42 years, Pam; his sons, Tony (Beth) Grabarczyk and Dan Grabarczyk; daughter, Kate (Curtis) Baker; and special grandkids Keaton, A.J., Anna, and Max Grabarczyk. He's also survived by his siblings, Eleanor Grabarczyk and William Kowalski.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Frank Grabarczyk and his mother, Virginia (Johnson) Grabarczyk, and his aunt, Ina Voss.

Family and friends may visit Tuesday, September 9th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton (419.826.2631). Services celebrating Bob's life will be held Wednesday, September 10th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home, with Pastor J.T. Bean officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
