Robert C. Duncan

Robert C. Duncan, age 87, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 23, 2014 at Regency Hospital in Sylvania. He was born September 1, 1926 in Waterloo, Indiana to Clifford W. and Georgia (Fee) Duncan. Robert was a U.S. Army WWII veteran. He married his beloved wife, Margie Krause on January 10, 1953. Together they raised two children, Scot and Camille. Robert worked as a train dispatcher for New York Central Railroad, Penn Central Railroad and ConRail for 34 years. He retired as chief dispatcher in 1988.

Shortly after the service, Robert obtained his pilots license, and had a passion for piloting his Piper Cub. He was an avid blackjack player, and enjoyed traveling out west to Las Vegas to visit the casinos. Robert was a 3rd Degree Mason, and in his spare time, enjoyed collecting carnival glass and watching sports on television, especially football.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Margie; son, Scot (Christine) Duncan; daughter, Camille (Bill) Pilliod; grandchildren, Robert, Brent, Allison, and Chadwick Duncan, Randy (Leila) Waller; great-grandchildren, Savannah and Madison Duncan and Ava and Cade Waller.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Georgia, and brother, William Duncan.

Per Robert's wishes, his body will be cremated and buried at a later date.
