Richard S. Uhlik, age 72, of Wauseon, Ohio, died peacefully Sunday afternoon, March 6, 2011, surrounded by his loving family, under the care of Defiance Inpatient Hospice. He was born July 15, 1938 in Monroe, Michigan to Steve and Frances (Ondrovick) Uhlik. Richard served in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1959. On July 27, 1995, he married his beloved wife, Carolyn (Johnston) Kovar.
Richard was an auto-testing technician for LDW Automotive. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed polka dancing. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 15 years, Carolyn; sons, Stephen Michael Uhlik and Richard Todd Uhlik; step-children, Daniel Kovar, Terry Kovar, Steven Kovar, Carol (Roger) Dulaney, Linda (John) Hernandez, and Ann Behnfeldt; granddaughter, Maegan Frances Uhlik; step-grandchildren, Nicole, Daniel, Rebecca, Amy, Mitchel, Christopher, Matthew, Benjamin, Sarah, Hannah, Rhett, Courtney, Sylvania, Skylund, Melaina, Reed, Brice, Kyra; and step-great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Toby, and Logan.
Family and friends may visit Thursday, March 10th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 413 E. Main St. in Metamora (419.644.3601), where a memorial service will be held Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m.
