Regina Rose Miller

Regina Rose Miller, 82, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away, Sunday morning, August 11, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo, with her family by her side. The daughter of Ambrose and Irene (Eisel) Herr, she was born November 15, 1930 in Assumption, Ohio. She met Orville Miller at a dance, and after graduating from Metamora High School, they married On June 3, 1950. They recently celebrated their 63rd anniversary. Together they raised five children in Richfield Center, where she was a homemaker. In 1972, they moved to Assumption, Ohio where they owned and operated Herr’s Grocery. She enjoyed visiting with her customers and tending to her large garden. Nearing retirement, they moved to Toledo, where she worked at Whiteford Greenhouse. Regina was an active member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish where she sang in the church choir. She was also a long-time member of the Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary, Assumption Post #306. She loved being with family and friends and always looking for a good card game.

Regina is survived by her husband, Orville; daughter, Barbara (Robert) Fenicle; sons Ronald (Sheri) Miller, Dale (Ann) Miller and Martin (Deborah) Miller; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ann Pinkelman, Cecelia Mattimoe, and Catherine Herr; and brother, Thomas Herr.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Lazenby; sister, Sylvia Kreuz; and brother, Anthony Herr.

Family and friends may visit Thursday, August 15th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 413 E. Main St. in Metamora, where a Vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday, August 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4555 N. Haven Ave. in Toledo; where a Mass of Resurrection will begin at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Francis Speier officiating. Following a luncheon at the church, committal services at the graveside will follow at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Assumption.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or St. Catherine of Siena Church.

Mass of Resurrection: Friday, August 16th at 11:00 am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, where visitation will be one hour prior
