Regina Mary Langenderfer

Regina Mary Langenderfer, the second oldest of the “Myers Girls”, entered into eternal life, Thursday evening, February 9, 2012, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, at the age of 93. She was born April 14, 1918 in Metamora, Ohio to the late Ed and Maude (Irwin) Myers. She married Cyril Langenderfer on September 6, 1941, and he preceded her in death on April 4, 1985. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Olive Rose Simon, Theresa Truckor; and brothers-in-law, Ray Simon and Ambrose Truckor.

Regina worked for the Pilliod Cabinet Company for 10 years. She was also a homemaker raising three sons.

Regina was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish of Assumption, Altar Rosary Society, and Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary Post #306 in Assumption. Regina had a special devotion to her Shrine of the Blessed Mother in her backyard built by her husband, Cyril, over 50 years ago. She had a special collection of angels displayed throughout her home gifted to her by members of her entire family.

She enjoyed playing cards, cooking, traveling, working puzzles, and was an accomplished seamstress. But most of all, Regina enjoyed being surrounded by her wonderful family.

Regina will be greatly missed by her three sons, Allan (Virginia) Langenderfer of Adrian, MI, Richard (Chris) Langenderfer of Lakewood, CO, and Brent Langenderfer of Toledo, OH; grandchildren, Lynn Wellman, Scott (Candi) Langenderfer, Nick (Jill) Langenderfer, Andy (Beth) Langenderfer, Eric Langenderfer, Aaron (Tara) Langenderfer, Ryan (Emily) Langenderfer, and Abbey (Matt) Boston; great-grandchildren, Ali, Lauren, Heather, Josh, Taylor, Chase, Ty, Nicole, Alex, Kaitlyn, Brianna, Olivia, and Emma; and great-great-grandson, Easton. Regina is also survived by her loving sister, Mary Jeanette (Al) Langenderfer, the youngest of the four “Myers Girls”, who all had a deep love and special bond for one another. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Family and friends may visit Sunday, February 12th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 413 E. Main St. in Metamora, where a Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday, February 13th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity (Immaculate Conception) Catholic Church at Marygrove, 1750 N. Raab Road in Swanton, where a Mass of Resurrection will begin at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Ron Schock officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Assumption.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Church.
