Rebecca “Becky” Marie Lumbrezer, age 52, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Wednesday morning, August 31, 2011, in her home, surrounded by her loving family, following a two-year courageous battle with cervical cancer. She was born January 10, 1959 in Toledo, Ohio to William and Nova Haas, and was a graduate of Anthony Wayne High School. On February 23, 1990, she married her loving husband, James Lumbrezer.
Becky worked for The Key Shopper’s News as a manager in the distribution department and performed secretarial work. She was a faithful member of St. Richard Catholic Parish and member of the church choir and Altar-Rosary Society. Becky loved the outdoors – fishing, camping, and gardening. She also enjoyed sewing, reading books, and working crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 21 years, James; mother, Nova Haas; children, Daniel Holt, Amanda (David) Ybarra, Pete Lumbrezer, and Sarah Lumbrezer; grandchildren, Alexandria Ybarra and David Ybarra, II;
siblings, Joe Haas, Gregory (Sabrina) Haas, Brenda (Pete) DeGroff, Tim (Kathie) Haas, and “adopted” sister, Cindy Falkenberg.
Becky was preceded in death by her dad, Bill; and father-in-law, Gilbert Lumbrezer.
Friends and family may visit Friday, September 2nd from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.. Visitation will continue Saturday morning, September 3rd from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Richard Catholic Church, where a Mass of Resurrection will begin at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Dan Zak and Fr. Ron Schock officiating.
Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Assumption.
Memorial contributions may be made to Promedica Hospice or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
