Ralph L. Johnson, age 92, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Wednesday evening, April 2, 2008 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 22, 1915 in Delta, Ohio to George and Laura (Davis) Johnson. On November 24, 1963, he married Grace Miller. Ralph was a lifelong farmer and he loved every minute of it. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and faithful member of Lytton Zion United Church of Christ.

Ralph was a major recycler of newspaper, glass, tin and scrap metal. He also ran a thrift shop from his home. People from all over the area would bring in items. All the money generated, was donated to Missions around the world. He and his wife, Grace, loved traveling on Mission trips throughout Europe. They also participated in Habitat for Humanity.

Ralph is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Grace; children Alvin (Rosemary) Johnson of Swanton, OH, Lois (Calvin) Bernholtz of Swanton, OH and Karen (Jim) Meyers of Wauseon, OH; stepchildren, Galen (Veronica) Krieger of Phoenix, AZ and Marilyn Jackson of Mauston, WI; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and siblings, Lewis Johnson, Florence Salsberry and Marvin Johnson, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Roger Cruea; brothers, Harry and Paul Johnson and sisters, Ethel Krieger, Grace Johnson, Alice Johnson and Ruby Johnson, and sons-in-law, Jim Meyers and Wayne Jackson.

Friends and family may visit Sunday, April 6th from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 7th beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Lytton Zion United Church of Christ, 12910 County Road 5 in Delta, with Pastor Mary Burroughs officiating. Interment will follow at Dutch Ridge Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the church or Fulton County Habitat for Humanity.
