Ralph S. Baker, Jr., age 81, of Lyons, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Hospice, Defiance, Ohio. He was born January 25, 1930 to Ralph and Katherine (Hafner) Baker. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. and the U.S. Navy. In 1951 he married Elaine Feaster.
Ralph retired from the former Lehn & Fink Co. in 1994 where he worked as a machine repairman. He was an avid C.B. and Ham Radio operator.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Elaine; daughter, Dianna (Greg) Hayford; sons, Steve (Gayle), Lloyd (Sharon), Jim (Elaine), Harvey (Shellie) and Michael (Jamie); special son, Bill; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Mary Ann Auger, of Virginia; and his loyal and ever faithful dog, Bailey.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Lloyd McCahan.
According to Ralph’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Friends and family may gather in the home of Ralph and Elaine on Sunday, June 19, 2011 from 1-4 p.m. to share special memories of Ralph.
The family would like to thank Dr. Murtiff, 4th Floor Nurses at FCHC, and Defiance Hospice Center, especially, Beth, Connie, Shannon, and Mel.
