Peter John Mattoni, age 98, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Thursday evening, May 26, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. Pete worked for the Interlake Iron Corporation for 43 years.

He married Frances Feudi his childhood sweetheart at the age of 19 years old. From that union came John (Barbara), Angela (deceased), Anthony and Peter (Marilyn) Mattoni;

They survive him, along with 1 sister, Mary Pennese; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his second wife, Helen Oliver; 5 brothers, Antonio, Rocco, Louie, Joseph, and Ray; and 1 sister, Pacificia (Pat) Pennese; and grandchild, Anthony J. Mattoni.

Family and friends may visit Tuesday, May 31st from 2 to 8 p.m. at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Road in Toledo.

Private Graveside Services will be held Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Maumee with Rev. Donna Stutzman officiating.
