Patricia Evelyn (Holtzhauer) Monger, 87, died at the home of her only surviving sister, Mary Magdalene Brodbeck, on June 8, 2013, in Swanton, OH, where she had been in her care for several months. She was born on August 11, 1925 in St. Marys, OH to Fred and Laura (O’Neill) Holtzhauer, both preceded her in death. She married Harry Monger on November 8, 1952 and he preceded her in death in 1979.
Pat was a 1943 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. A former Goodyear employee, Pat spent much of her life as a loving caregiver for her mother-in-law, mother and father and her oldest sister. She and her husband, Harry, made their home in Botkins, OH and, for many years, spent months at Indian Lake, Russells Point, OH and New Port Richey, Florida.
Preceding her in death were her sisters, Mary C. Holtzhauer, Mrs. Jerome (Frances) Gasson, Mrs. Willis (Helen) Dicke, Mrs. Robert (Betsy) Marker and brother George, who died as an infant.
She is survived by her sister, Mrs. William (Mary Magdalene) Brodbeck, Swanton, OH and 28 devoted nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, at Immaculate Conception Church, Botkins, OH. The Rev. Patrick Sloneker will officiate. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Botkins. Visitation Tuesday, June 11, will be at the Cisco Funeral Home in St. Marys, OH during the hours of 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
