Patricia J. Mack

Patricia J. Mack, age 91, of Lyons, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her home Tuesday evening, January 15, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 26, 1921, in Fayette, Ohio to the late Chester and Anna (Rowe) Ball. She married Robert Griffin in May of 1942. Together they had a daughter, Bonnie. Patricia became a widow at a young age in December of 1944, when Robert died of combat wounds while serving during WWII. In April of 1947, she married Earl Mack, and together had two daughters, Marianne and Vicki. Earl preceded her in death in March of 1993.

Patricia worked as a secretary for Lyons High School and was a bank teller at the Lyons Bank for over 20 years. After retirement she wintered in Florida with her husband and together they trained horses. She was a great organizer for the women in Lyons for social outings, musicals, card games, theater, and bus tours. Pat and Earl both loved to play cards.

She was a member of the Lyons Christian Church, Lyons Historical Society, and Senior Citizens group.

Pat is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Gorsuch, Marianne (John, Jr.) Machacek, and Vicki Nafziger; grandchildren, Brant (Amy) Gorsuch, Leigh (Lorenzo) Gorsuch, Shawn (Tammy) Machacek, Michelle (Dave) Schweinhagen, Kristen (Mike) Kolodie, Joe (Julie) Frank, Jeff (Jodi) Frank, and Julie (Ed) Ruffer; 26 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and her constant companion and beloved cat, Babe.

Besides her husbands, Robert and Earl, and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth.

Family and friends may visit Saturday, January 26th from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Lyons Christian Church, where Memorial Services will be held Sunday, January 27th at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul Bomeli officiating. Interment at Lyons Cemetery will be private at a later date.

A special Thank You to our Mom’s guardian angel’s, Minnie and Missie, for the loving care they provided to our mother.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Fulton and Williams Counties or Lyons Christian Church.
