Nancy Ann Dzierzawski, age 77 of Brooklyn, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 13, 2024. She was born on September 6, 1947 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Ernie and Vernadene (nee: Vaughan) Brockhoff. Loving wife of Ronald for 56 years; dear mother of Dirk (Lori) Dzierzawski, Deacon (Heather Wegener) Dzierzawski, and grandchildren; Max and Aden.
Nancy's life was marked by her vibrant career as a radio DJ for WFSP in Kingwood, WV and in radio sales for WIOT in Toledo, Ohio, where she enjoyed making connections with people. She possessed an extensive wealth of knowledge in genealogical research, demonstrating her commitment not only to uncovering personal histories but also to preserving the legacies of those who came before her. One of her greatest genealogical accomplishments was proving to be a direct descendant of the Mayflower Settlers, and being recognized as one of the First Families of Ohio.
After going to Ohio State University and then to Ohio University, Nancy had the opportunity to live in Ohio, Michigan, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Canada. Her favorite place was at her cottage on Wamplers Lake, Michigan with her family and spending the winters on a the beach in Florida.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 17th from 10am to 2:30pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, Ohio. Service celebrating Nancy's life will be held at 2:30pm.
A celebration of life will be held immediately following services at EJ Ritter Event Center located at 124 N. Main Street, Swanton, OH.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Genealogical Society or the Crosswell Opera House in Adrian, Michigan.
