Mildred M. Lumbrezer

Mildred Lumbrezer, 92, life-long resident of Swanton, Ohio, entered into eternal life, surrounded by her loving family, Sunday evening, October 29, 2017 in her home. She was born May 22, 1925 in Swanton to the late Lawrence and Laura (Hassen) Raab. Mildred was a 1943 graduate of Swanton High School. On August 5, 1950, she married her beloved husband, Gilbert Lumbrezer. She helped Gilbert on the farm while raising their four children.

Mildred was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Assumption and member of the Rosary-Altar Society. She was devoted to her Rosary, praying it daily. She loved gardening, crocheting afghans, and was known for her wedding cake baking and decorating talent. She will be remembered as a wonderful cook who loved family dinner gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Rosie (Bill) Raczko; sons, Bob (Sharon) Lumbrezer, Gil (Karen) Lumbrezer, and Jim Lumbrezer; grandchildren, Scott, Jenny (Alan), Christopher (Melissa), Brent, Taylor, Geoffrey, Amanda (Dave), Peter, and Sarah, great-grandchildren, Sierra, Gavin, Hannah, Alex, Owen, Alexandria, and David; as well as her sister, Mary Lumbrezer; sisters-in-law, Sr. Katherine Lumbrezer, Dorothy Hack, Cecilia Lumbrezer, and Joyce (Bill) Miller; and many nieces and nephews.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 46 years, Gilbert; brothers, Jerome and Norm Raab; sister, Rosemary Klipple; grandson, Dan; and daughter-in-law, Rebecca Lumbrezer.

Family and friends may visit Thursday, November 2nd from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton (419.826.2631), where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday, November 3rd from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption, where a Mass of Resurrection will begin at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Michael Dandurand presiding. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
