The Wolverines lost their #1 fan on Sunday, January 1, 2012, when Michele departed this life for her next journey. Michele spent most of her life as a Swanton resident, except when she fulfilled a life long dream, and family tradition, of fleeing Ohio for Florida. She spent 34 years as the Best Mom in the world, and most recently was the constant smiling face at Kroger in Swanton. Michele believed that education, mutual respect, and love, were the keys to a happy life and she exemplified these virtues every day. Michele leaves behind 4 children, and in each of her children, she left a part of herself. In her son, Joshua, she leaves her unwaveringly inner strength, which allowed her to bounce back from anything thrown at her, and could not be more proud of the honorable man Josh is; in her daughter, Autumn (Robert) Lee, she leaves her passionate nature, though takes no responsibility for the feisty deliverance of passion that Autumn has perfected; in her daughter, Amber, she leaves her determination for self exploration and strong sense of character, and reminds Amber to “follow your heart because you will never go wrong”; and in her daughter, April, she leaves her ability to always find the right path through the thorny trail of life. Michele also leaves behind her “most handsomeness” grandson, Nathan. In Nathan, Michele leaves her sense of wonderment about the world and the desire to learn everything about everything. She reminds Nathan that when he misses grandma, he only has to open his books, and he will always be able to hear her voice.
Michele also leaves behind her sisters, Lisa Ann (Glen) Ashfelnter, of West Unity, and Danielle of Pensacola, FL; and uncle George and aunt Darlene Drewyor of Toledo; and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jeff, and godson, Nathan.
The Adams family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the nurses and doctors a the Hickman Cancer Center, who always were the voice of encouragement on the bad days and happiness on the good days. And for our friends and family who never left our side, especially, Nicole Wersing, Brand Ebner, and Doug and Sylvia Lee.
Michele requested that donations be made in her name to the Swanton Public Library, as she believed books were humans greatest invention, or the Nathan Adams Scholarship Fund established at any Directions Credit Union, as her last wish was to leave her grandson the gift of University.
Family and friends may visit Thursday, January 5th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral home in Swanton. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 6th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Per her wishes, Michele will be cremated and her ashes spread in her most favorite place in the world, Hawaii.
