Michael Leroy Ross, age 65, of Swanton, Ohio, passed on to eternal life in the arms of his beloved wife, Linda, on Tuesday, April 20, 2010. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 27, 1944 to Leroy and Wilma (Stricker) Ross. Michael was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Michael’s love of hunting, motorcycle racing, snowmobiling, and riding anything that had a motor, filled his off hours. He drove truck for 42 years, meeting many friends along the way. He loved people and especially the ladies. Always a gentleman, he took great pride in his Italian heritage and his inherent charm. He loved to make people smile.

Mike could tell a great story and get a laugh out of anybody. He was a generous and giving man, loved by most who met him.

He was a member of St. Richard Catholic Parish, Past Grand Knight of the Sacred Heart Council, Knights of Columbus, an officer with Fulton County Sportsman Club, and past director of Harley Owners Group – Napoleon Chapter.

Mike will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Linda; daughter, Michelle (Phil) Huss; son, Jason (Shannon) Ross; grandchildren, Matthew, Glinda, Michael, Robert, Mariah, and Eric; sister, Carmen (Tim) Thurman; sister-in-law, Kathy Ross; father-in-law, Eugene Fondren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Robert; daughter, Kelly; his parents; brothers, Tony and Bobbie; and mother-in-law, Naomi Fondren.

Friends and family may visit Friday, April 23rd from 2 to 9 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at St. Richard Catholic Church on Saturday, April 24th at 9:30 a.m., with Fr. Daniel J. Zak officiating. Burial will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of St. Francis.
