Michael Paul Jordan

Michael (Mike) Paul Jordan passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on August 21^st, 2023. Mike was born in Springfield, OH on January 31,1956 to Paul and Rhonda Jordan. 

Mike graduated from DeVilbuss High School (Toledo) in 1974 and was employed at the Toledo Blade for over 40 years working in various roles. While working full time, Mike attended the University of Toledo in the evenings and earned three college degrees. He went on to marry the love of his life Eleanor (Ellie) Jordan (Giardini) on September 30, 1989. They spent 33 years together.  

They have three beautiful children Matthew, Robert, and Rachel. 

Mike is survived by his wife Ellie, son Matthew Jordan of Montpelier, OH, daughter Rachel Jordan of Wilmington, OH, brother Patrick (Judy) Jordan of Ekron, KY, brother John (Julie) Jordan of Stafford, VA, sister Julie (Paul) Harrington of Baltimore, MD, father-in-law Paul Giardini of Swanton, OH,  sister-in-law Christine (Patrick) Miller of Ashland, OH, sister-in-law Gail (Robert) Schantz of Harrod, OH, sister-in-law Phyllis (Allen) Aumend of Baltimore, OH, granddaughter Aleja Jordan and many nieces and nephews. 

Mike loved God and His creation. He appreciated the outdoors, enjoyed canoeing and loved camping with family and friends. As a boy, he was active with the Boy Scouts and later enjoyed volunteering with local troops in Northwest Ohio. He was a lifelong learner and enjoyed reading and visiting museums. Mike will be remembered by family and friends for his dry sense of humor, strong work ethic, warm bear hugs and willingness to lend a hand to others. 

Mike is preceded in death by his son Robert (Bob) Jordan,  mother Rhonda and & stepfather Richard Redd, father Paul Jordan, brother Joe Jordan,  mother-in-law Alice Giardini, and brother-in-law Paul Giardini.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 25th from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where funeral services will begin at 6:00 p.m.
