Meredith M. Herrick

Meredith M. Herrick, age 88, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Wednesday afternoon, April 24, 2013, at the Swanton Health Care and Retirement Center. She was born July 11, 1924 in Delta, Ohio to Leon and Georgia (Foster) George, and was a graduate of Ai School. She married Robert G. Herrick on August 9, 1942, and he preceded her in death.

Meredith was a homemaker, raising her two children. She loved having people around and entertaining family and friends in her home, and will be remembered for her amusing wit. She also enjoyed playing cards, going on gambling trips, and mushroom hunting and fishing at the lake in Howell, Michigan.

Meredith was a member of the Swanton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Swanton VFW.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Donald) Kaczmarek; and son, Larry (Janet) Herrick; brother, Leroy George; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; 1 sister; 2 brothers; granddaughter, Amy Taylor; and great-great-granddaughter, Carly Rohda.

Family and friends may visit Friday, April 26th from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 27th at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Donna Stutzman officiating. Interment will follow at Amboy Township Cemetery.
