Mary Ellen Mossing, age 79, of Swanton, Ohio went home to the Lord peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. She was born June 11, 1934 in Cecil, Ohio, to Charles and Mary (Hoschock) Burns. She married her love, Kenneth B. Mossing, in Sherwood, Ohio on August 1, 1959.

Mary Ellen was very active in The Rock Church in Oregon, Ohio. She was very proud to receive her certificate of ministry at age 73 from the Solid Rock School of Ministry. She went on to minister to people in hospitals, nursing homes, hospice facilities and her church. Mary Ellen loved to read the Bible and write encouraging words as she felt led. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and spiritual mother to many.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Kenneth; children, Steve (Brenda) Mossing, Scott (Patty) Mossing, Sue (Alan) Szabo, Gregg (Karen) Mossing, Becky (Tim) Gibson, Tim (Gretchen) Mossing, and Connie (John) Fahmy; and also 21 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; sisters, Loretta Bond and Rita Folk; and sisters-in-law, Betty and Katie Burns and many more people whose lives she touched.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Harold Burns, Richard Burns, Sally Winterhalter, Walter Burns, Leroy Burns, Cathern Williamson and Edward Burns.

Family and friends may visit Tuesday, June 3rd from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton (419.826.2631). In addition, a celebration service will be held Wednesday, June 4th at 11:00 a.m. at The Rock Church, 4058 Starr Ave., Oregon, Ohio 43610, with Pastor Carlos Hernandez officiating followed by a time of fellowship and food.

Memorial Contributions may be made to The Rock Church.
