Mary Frances Kudlac, age 84, of Blissfield, Michigan, passed away Wednesday morning, January 9, 2008 in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 8, 1923 in Riga, Michigan to John and Elizabeth (Vasicek) Filipek. She married Anthony Kudlac on August 31, 1946, and he preceded her in death on October 25, 1981.
Mary was owner of Kudlac’s Restaurant in Blissfield and had her own catering business until her retirement. She loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. She also enjoyed planting flowers. She was a member of the Blissfield American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and the Czechoslovak Society of America.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Shirley Spiegel (Ruben Quintero) and Gale Schikora (Dave); son, Anthony Kudlac; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and brothers, Joe, Charlie and Jim Filipek.
Besides her husband, Anthony, she was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Louis, Frank and John Filipek.
Visitation will be private. Graveside services will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Assumption on Friday, January 11, 2008, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Dennis Metzger officiating.
