Marvin Keith Ritenour, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep Thursday morning, December 19, 2024, at the age of 98. Born on April 19th, 1926, in Whitehouse, Ohio, Keith lived a full and meaningful life that touched the hearts of many.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Keith served during World War II as a first sergeant, where he was awarded the Army Occupational Medal (Germany), both Silver and Bronze Stars, and the WWII Victory Medal. His military service exemplified his dedication to his country and his commitment to the values of courage and honor.
Keith attended Whitehouse School and furthered his studies by attending Electrical School in Chicago. Keith's professional legacy began as owner and operator of Swanton TV and Appliance for over 40 years. He was a trusted source for quality service in the community. He was known for his integrity and work ethic, earning the respect and admiration of his customers and colleagues alike.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Keith had a passion for life that was evident in his hobbies and interests. He enjoyed snowmobiling, golfing, and fishing trips up north in Canada. Keith took great pride in his home and was especially known for keeping a meticulous lawn, a reflection of his diligence and care.
A devout Catholic, Keith was a member of St. Richard Catholic Parish. He and his beloved wife, Ruth, attended Mass together every Sunday. Most notably, Keith cherished going out dancing, wintering in Florida, and traveling around the world with his wife, a partnership that spanned 75 years, showcasing their deep love and connection for each other. Ruth passed away on July 10th of this year.
Keith is survived by his son, John Ritenour of Crestview, FL; his daughter, Pat (Ric) Wentz of Monclova, OH; grandchildren Lori (Mark) Meiring, Craig Wentz, Perscilla (Arjun) Rau, and Melissa Ritenour; great-grandchildren Lexii (Kattie), Shawn, Kirstin, Caden, Anabelle, Aanya; as well as a great-great-grandson, Jaxon, and many nieces and nephews.
Keith was preceded in death by his mother, Edith (Bucher) Ritenour, wife Ruth, brothers, Lauren Joe, Bob, Dick, and Don Ritenour, and daughter in-law Tina Ritenour.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 28th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where services will begin at 12:00 (Noon), with Fr. Eric Culler presiding. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow at St. Richard's Cemetery.
