Marvin Paul Kasten

Marvin Paul Kasten, age 88, of Swanton, Ohio passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon April 21, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo.  Marvin was born August 29, 1935 in Toledo, Ohio to Melvin and Lena (Fehser) Kasten. Marvin was a 1953 graduate of Swanton High School, and was drafted in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Marvin was very proud of being a veteran and for the time he spent serving his country in Korea. He married Carolyn M. Frosch in 1957. They enjoyed a beautiful life together for over 50 years before her unfortunate passing in November 2009. 

Marvin was a loving and dedicated husband and father and a faithful servant of the Lord.  He is a cherished part of so many special family moments from births of his grandchildren to weddings and everything in between. Marvin enjoyed golfing with his sons, attending baseball games with his family, watching old westerns, and playing cards and games with his friends and family. He is deeply adored by his great grandchildren who loved playing Yahtzee , Dominos and Uno with him.  He will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of his loved ones forever. They find comfort knowing he is in his eternal home with Jesus and reunited with his beloved Carolyn. 

Marvin is survived by his sons, Marvin S. (Katrina) Kasten, David (Jan) Kasten; grandchildren, Ashley (Troy) Westhoven, Jenna Kasten, Lauren (Adam) Roy, Taylor Kasten, Angel Zeller, Dustin (Tierany) Kasten and Josh (Gina) Kasten; 11 great-grandchildren, Tyce, Addison, Maximus, Vienna, Leonidas, Remington, Blake, Brady, Tyson, Jaret and Isla; sister, Betty Pawlinski and brothers, Fred Kasten and Robert Kasten. 

Besides his wife, Carolyn, Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and son, Steven Kasten.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 24th from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where services for Marvin will begin at 7:00 and conclude with Military Honors. Interment will be held at a later date at Toledo Memorial Park.
