Marie Dominique, age 83, of Maumee, Ohio; formerly of Swanton, Ohio, entered into eternal rest, Tuesday afternoon, November 11, 2008, at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was born on November 7, 1925, in Toledo, Ohio, to Roy and Emma (Miller) Johnson. She married Richard Dominique, and he preceded her in death on October 14, 1968.

Marie worked as a nurse’s aide at the former Detwiler Manor in Wauseon. She was a long-time member of St. Richard Catholic Parish, and its Rosary & Altar Society, and current member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish in Maumee. Marie’s greatest joy in life was raising her 13 children.

She loved cooking for her family, baking bread, dancing, playing the piano, and playing bingo.

Marie is survived by her loving children, Sharon Pinkleman, Corwin (Jane) Dominique, Jim Dominique, Dan Dominique, Jean (Dave) Dunbar, Mark (Kathy) Dominique, Jackie (Steve) Weiler, Joe (Katrinka) Dominique, Judy (Mike) Zavac, Dale (Cheryl) Dominique, and Luke (Suann) Dominique; 28 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; sisters, Leona (George) Chovanec, Sister Ruth Johnson, Sue (Dick) Harley, and Mary Jo De Vallario.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Fred Dominique; daughter, Janet Walsh; brothers, Phil, Mark, Bill, Bernie, Lawrence, and Leon Johnson.

Friends and family may visit Friday, November 14th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm. Prayers will begin in the funeral home at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 15th, followed by a Mass of Ressurection at St. Richard Catholic Church at 10:30 am. Fr. Robert Holden will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Richard’s Cemetery.
