Margaret V. (Schmitz) Ricica, age 91, of Metamora, Ohio, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2008, at Toledo Hospital. Margaret was born on September 5, 1916 to Edward and Mathilda Schmitz. She married Frank Ricica on February 6, 1940 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Assumption. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1992. Margaret was a life long member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a past member of the church choir.

Margaret is survived by her loving children, Donna Ricica, Larry (Cynthia) Ricica and Frances (Thomas) Silveous; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; 2 infant children; 2 sisters; 1 brother, and a great-grandson.

Margaret donated her body to the University of Toledo Medical College. A Memorial Mass for the celebration of her life will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption, on Thursday, May 8th at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Dennis Metzger officiating.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Holy Trinity Catholic School, St. Vincent DePaul Society, or Metamora Fire Department.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Swan Creek Nursing Center for her care in the past 8 months.
