Lynn Earl Ott of Hillsdale, Michigan, passed away on October 22, 2024 at Toledo Hospital. He was born on July 11, 1943 to Leslie and Marion (Box) Ott and grew up in Berkey, Ohio. He married Judy Barba on January 2, 1965.
Lynn graduated in 1961 from Metamora High School and organized monthly luncheons with his classmates. He started his working career at Holiday Inn and then moved his family up to Hillsdale in 1971. He held a few different jobs there one being 20 years at Contour Plastics. His last job was at LodgeNet installing Network systems in hotels. He loved bowling at Hillside Lanes celebrating his highest series of 735. He was a lifelong Detroit Tigers and Ohio State Football fan and was an avid collector of baseball cards and coins. He enjoyed his grandchildren’s baseball games and loved teaching them and his great-grandchildren how to play baseball. He always had a camera with him to take pictures of the gas prices or the many deer he spotted while driving. He enjoyed watching Eagle and other bird cams showing all the eggs hatching. He also entered many online contests and won a few interesting items, one being a European trip from Wheel of Fortune for his daughter.
Lynn is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judy, along with daughters Shelly Ott and Melissa McCormick (Jason Eady), and his brother Jim (Linda) Ott. He is also survived by grand-children Christopher (Amanda) McCormick, Brent (Kasey) McCormick and Brittany (Kyle) Brewer. Great-Grandchildren Deven, Meranda, Dakota, Alissa, Isabella, Adrianna, Hunter, Olivia, Leila, Seth, Brayden, Adan, Corbin and Carter. Great-Great-Grandchildren Maci, Alaia, Amaya and Amara. Special family Jody Ott, Danny McCormick and Bianca Rumer. As well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Per Lynn’s request, there will be no services at this time, but a Celebration of Life will take place around his birthday in July 2025. The family requests any memorial contributions be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan.
A heart felt thankful to the doctors and nurses in the ICU unit at Toledo Hospital for the wonderful care they showed Lynn during his stay there.
